turned me off

I went off

on an ad

overload over kill

killed Christmas

sent a chill

through my brain

ignition key

keyed me up

fired me up

when a child spoke

made me choke

when asked.....

"Do you believe in Santa?"

she replied, NO, I believe in cashmere!"

the child spoke

but the parent

planted a cashmere seed

as her need

has Santa, Christmas been

all boxed up, tossed away

for next spring's yard sale?

something worn in the past ?

Is Santa out of fashion?

where is the passion ( play ) ?

has the dictionary been updated?

the 21st century meaning

TV tuned OFF

turned me on

to write a letter

to the jolly jingle man

give him a heads up

he's not in the plan

meanwhile......

there's a child out there

with nothing

with nothing but a paper & pencil

hands shaking from the cold

writing a letter to Santa

a child with nothing

but a glow on his/her face

one cannot erase

it's an internal flame

that shines a light

the light of Christmas

REAL CHRISTMAS

it is the cashmere

that is turned inside out

this child's letter will

be signed , sealed, and delivered

forever......

for this child has kept the LIGHT ON

as it shines on the child

wrapped in straw

NOT CASHMERE !
