Hotel Bagdad / Hospital Motel

______________________________
(Dedicated to "Camp Ross", ALL the Troops overseas , and Our American Veterans )

Following the yellow brick road
to the ring of fire smoke
puttin' on the choke
choking
our women / men wearing
the latest trend
combat boots..a new hat
gas mask
that's their gear
for how long another 5 years?
they're the firefly at night
a sittin' duck by day
wake up call
brushing their teeth with sand
no water to wash
the foul taste at hand
they're dripping sweat
in a sweat while the chill
runs through the spine
a brainstorm
is it my maker day?
so who's who in Bagdad hotel
and who's home in the hospital motel?
men, women, and children
in black body bags
a wooden box walkin' the street
no lollipops for the child
but a machine gun
so they can play war
takin' it to the street
the sand walk of hell
it's a blast from the past
a dictator's mask
the head rag head with a task
seduced an uproar nation
still broken
can't fix never will
even though the man has fallen
found in a rat hole
what is the fate
bombarded palaces
free fireworks show /light show
never ends
so who's who in Hotel Bagdad still?
a waiting , growing grave
the bath of blood
that will continue to flood
ALL
we won't know
until it's over
til the man sings
he isn't planning on
singing this gig
head rag head on tape
Bush on the phone
busy signal
busy busy busy
exhausting the troops
flyboys / special ops / seals
the road crews
pushing forward
to the land of Oz
with one hell of a tornado
waiting
all for the cause
'cause Bush says so!
I say, like so many others....
Bring 'em home
there are too many yellow ribbons!
and these troops that served before
are neglected
laying up in the motel VA Hospital
with a wooden leg, no legs
and a young man only 20
 his brain blown to pieces
and he's definitely not
the scare crow from OZ !
Take a field trip to the Veteran's Hospital
It will put your life
back in perspective.
